the most annoying thing is how iron man is like the only comic that’s even bothering to try and tie in its character to current events/other teams and i just wish gillen ignored the whole avx nd gotg things because they’re dumb no one even cares
i appreciate that gillen is trying, i guess. But it seems more like something that Marvel is pushing on him a bit because they want Tony in space for GoTG. but yeah. I really wish Gillen would just tell his own stories, especially so early in his run and forget about this AvX shit because outside of the event itself I don’t see why it’s effecting Tony so much and especially so much more than other characters.

The sucky thing is that Tony on GoTG could have been something great if Bendis played it out of what Rich said to Tony in Nova #3 and in here
The Annihilation event took place during Civil War so yeah Nova was pretty pissed that something as as minor as the Superhero Registration was top priority for Tony and the other heroes when the universe itself was at war with an invading force and on the verge being wiped out. Just think how the heroes on Earth could have helped Nova and the rest of the universe against Annihilus.
Tony’s reaction was pretty much “Yeah, OK but have you registered yet? You know you can do a lot by helping us”
I don’t recall very well but Nova pretty much tells him to look at the bigger picture and to not be so Earthcentric and I think if Bendis had followed from that then this could have made Iron Man in GotG more acceptable (for me at least, I like this reasoning better than the Captain Kirk fantasy one).
But I am not even going to get Bendis GotG, maybe I’ll read the first issue for curiosity’s sake at the most but judging by how they were in AA I wasn’t that interested.

I think the plan was to have a rotating member slot for an Avenger in the GotG comic.
