Well, technically Gaea is one of ours. But I confess I really don’t get all this Earth Mother mumbo jumbo. No offense.
Journey Into Mystery #652
Oh girls that’s the LEAST confusing thing about Gaea.
I am still waiting for a Thor writer who is brave enough to touch the subject of her family line.
Jane and Sif being awesome and getting along though <3
JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #652 preview at CBR.
The Birth of Thor
From Thor #300
GAEA by Lindsay Ishihiro so cool ;) (via The Official Handbook to the Marvel Universe - REDUX Edition)
I know she can shape shift into different forms but this redesign should be her main or default form <3
“I am a wholly different persona created to lay back man’s foolish notion of his superiority to woman.”

This issue, seriously! D:
Also within this cut I wrote some of what I thought about this issue and a mini analysis about Loki, Thor and the unwanted hel-pup.
That’s it, Namor. Go for the boobs!
Ahh I was going to make a post of this, lol but you beat me to it.
I loved how Namor was punching on her boobs, Hulk punches the hell out of her head and Dr Strange and Silver Surfer were blasting her like crazy and Gaea was just not giving a fuck about it…. Well until she got annoyed.
Here’s the whole thing
Then she just waves her hand
KO
Gaea: 1
The Defenders: -Infinity
Moral of the story? Don’t fuck with Thor’s mom, her boobs are beyond mere mortals.
This is from Pasqual Ferry’s blog, the current artist of Mighty Thor. Semi-spoilers because it shows B&W non-lettered pages from that comic and it doesn’t come out until November 23. The pages themselves aren’t really that spoilery and don’t tell much about the plot but still they go behind the cut!
Some Tanarus, All-Mothers, and Kid Loki inside
I got this from Pasqual Ferry’s blog months ago way before Fear Itself 7.2 and JiM #631 even came out! and I was confused as to why he was doing these designs.
Anyway these are two of the three All-Mothers Freyja (aka Frigga) Odin’s wife and Thor and Loki’s mother, and Gaea Elder Earth Goddess, personification of Earth, and Thor’s biological mom with one of her babies.
Anyway, I am glad to see them back (and Idunn of course)! Especially Gaea because I was worried that she had died during that Chaos War crossover. I am questioning why she would take her time to rule Asgard though? She’s an Elder God and a powerful and mysterious force of nature who only appears when the Earth is threatened, when shit really goes down, or when summoned by powerful magic. She is above mundane Asgardian politics and stuff but I guess since one of her sons died, Asgard being in her realm, and the fact that Odin asked her for a favor, well she’s just honoring them.
Thor’s mom is a real powerful ancient Elder God, and is the Earth Goddess of every known earth pantheon and their progenitor.
This not just only makes Thor half-Aesir and if you know your myths it makes him related to almost every Midgardian god ever! Look at Gaea’s known relatives section in her official Marvel bio, they end with “Many other descendents” and don’t bother listing everyone of her kids and grand kids because there’s just too many characters, seriously.
I am sure those family reunions with mom are really fun for Thor.
Now I badly want Marvel to acknowledge that Thor is related to Herc, that would just make my day.
