Okay, so this is my Protoman helmet, gunarm, and scarf that was finished around October 2011, and worn to the 11/11/11 show in Durham, NC. I made the helm and gunarm, and my ex made the scarf for me.
Helmet has a big scar on it, as noted in one of the photos, to give it character. Nothing particularly special about the helm, it’s just painted up good.
The gunarm is what I’m most proud of. It’s made from PVC pipe, foam boards to keep the barrels in place, and electric tape to keep the boards wrapped up. I pained a layer of silver underneath the red and white, and chipped away at the upper colored layers to give it a weathered look. The cannon itself is pretty big, it comes up to about my elbow, and is a little over two feet long, altogether.
I’ve been considering updating the gunarm some, or building another one, a bit more compact and less fragile (the glue keeping the barrels attached to the cannon is coming undone). Once I get some funding, I’ll probably work on it.
