The difference is that in the comic, Steve had Moon Knight and Natasha stab someone through the hand, or maybe crush their hand, but that someone turned out to be innocent.

Which might have been a profound point that Ellis was making, but for Steve, it felt very out of character. Much as I love Warren Ellis’ Secret Avengers, that was a moment that sucked.
