You know, I was kind of enjoying that Natasha was one of the few characters in Brubaker’s run to not get terribly brainwashed. These sorts of stories are tricky to pull off when the whole brainwash thing is presented as something for other characters to react to rather than something for the victim to overcome. But we’ll see.

Aha.

If brainwashing, then okay, sure, why not. If it turns out that she has a trigger phrase that makes her evil…. Yeah, no.

That first cover is like two lovely ones over another, that kind of clash and amount to to less than the sum of their parts. Hope to see the Natasha only portion at some point.

Hopefully Brubaker handles Natasha well, he has yet to disappoint with how he writers her (hopefully he doesn’t make me suffer like he did with Sharon and Faustus because I really suffered through that, mainly because I didn’t like seeing Sharon suffering).

It also seems Clint is going to be in on the “We know Bucky is alive” club, it’s going to be interesting to see how he reacts to that (especially since he was kind of affected by Bucky’s death and then Steve lied to him about it in the Cap title).
